Trackunit IoT Devices owns and delivers all hardware and firmware development for the Trackunit range of Telematics IoT Devices, and we are managing the full IoT product lifecycle from early innovation, to design, prototyping, final product integration, ramp-up and maintenance. We have a steadily increased activity level, and our IoT Devices, Products Delivery Engineering team is now welcoming new engineers to join our exciting journey to eliminate downtime in the construction industry.
The IoT Devices team employ skilled engineers, covering the complete chain from product architects, electronics circuit designers, over manufacturing introduction, to firmware engineers, and use external partners for support on dedicated topics.
With locations in the heart of Aalborg, we offer you a flexible setup with the possibility to work from our locations or remotely from anywhere in Denmark. We have our own hardware laboratory in Aalborg though and therefore we expect you to be present at our Aalborg hub on a regular basis.

Who are you ideally?
- We expect you have a relevant education and some years of practical experience in designing, testing and introducing electronics HW into production as outlined below.

Primary responsibilities:
Your work starts with exploring system requirements and ends with an product collecting data on heavy construction machinery. You will be one of our HW Engineers who lay the foundation for the electronics hardware part of our IoT Devices product range.
Processor sub-systems, storage, cellular modem modules, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, CAN, Ethernet, and other highly ruggedized external interfaces are some of the systems you will integrate, develop, and help produce.At best you also have strong desire to understand and built complete products and desire to follow them until they run smoothly off the production line, tested and ready to ship.
You will work closely with colleagues from other skill groups, where you contribute with:
- Support of hardware systems and circuits for the system functionality mentioned above
- Optimize design cost, yield, and test to perform excellent in production
- Introduce new products on the production line and work directly with our EMS to optimize the BOM for cost and longevity
- HW qualification of product for regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with partners for the design of ruggedized mechanical housings and harness/wiring
- Hands-on implementation of electronic circuits including schematics capture, PCB layout, and laboratory work
- Hands-on product life-cycle and product improvements
- Help your colleagues and team lead scope development work packages

- Personality-based interview. You will be asked to fill out an online personality assessment, using Hogan, prior to the interview. There are no correct answers - the aim is a dialogue about the results and Trackunit’s culture, so you’ll get to know us better as well.
- Assignment-specific interview. We want you to get an insight into some of the concrete work tasks or challenges related to the role. You will be given a case to prepare prior to the interview, and at the interview, you will present the case to relevant colleagues from across Trackunit, who you’ll also work closely with in the job.
- If needed, throughout the process we will obtain references from former employers and do background checks, if you have not provided these yourself.
