Senior AI Engineer
We’re looking for a curious, solution-driven Senior AI Engineer to join our Core AI Team in the CTO Office, where we steer AI and data innovation across the company. With 2+ billion data points collected daily, you’ll have an enormous playground to build, experiment, and deploy advanced models that solve critical problems. Working alongside a team of experienced data professionals and software engineers, you’ll contribute to turning raw data into intelligent solutions that transform the construction industry.
Your contributions will be vital to our AI strategy, enhancing the ways we leverage data to facilitate effective decision-making. Whether you prefer working from one of our hubs in Copenhagen, Kolding, Aarhus, or Aalborg, or remotely from anywhere in Denmark, we offer a flexible setup designed for innovation. No relocation assistance is provided, but if you’re already here, this is your chance to work on one of the most exciting AI challenges in the industry.
What’s in it for you?
- Join a cross-functional and collaborative team consisting of other data scientists, as well as data engineers, and software developers
- International environment with regular check-ins and social events across teams, departments and borders.
- We take your personal and professional development goals seriously and we support them through training, coaching and mindfulness as well as with a clear feedback culture to assist you in identifying your abilities and opportunities. We do this by touching upon your impact on our triple focus: impacting yourself, impacting teams/relations and impacting the organisation/strategy.
- Flexibility and hybrid working is not just a cliché to us or something we state in a job posting. We do offer you a flexible setup and believe that you best can structure how your routines look like. And once you have chosen how you work best, let us know what you need: we got you covered with the IT equipment you need for your work.
- Turning the Tide. At Trackunit, we are committed to creating and contributing to an inclusive workplace. And this strategy starts with our hiring - we do not discriminate on the basis of gender identity, sexual orientation, personal expression, ethnicity, religious belief, or disability status. We only assess candidates on their qualifications and merit. Learn more about TIDE and other DE&I initiatives here.
Who are you ideally?
- You have 5+ years of work experience applying data science and analytics techniques to solve product or business problems.
- You are experienced in managing end-to-end model development, from research and prototyping to deployment and monitoring
- You have practical experience with Generative AI, including agent solutions, LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for improving AI-driven user experiences
- With a blend of curiosity and creativity, you devise solutions that are applicable in real-life contexts.
Don't meet every single requirement? No worries - this is what we're looking for ideally, but if you're super interested in this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification, we encourage you to apply.
Primary responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement Generative AI solutions for Trackunit’s platform and software products
- Work on composite AI by bringing together large-scale datasets and generative AI to enable fleet insights and optimization
- Apply generative AI and machine learning to solve real world business challenges for our customers
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to define requirements and integrate AI solutions into our applications
- Stay ahead of AI trends, contributing to Trackunit’s AI strategy and technology roadmap
Our hiring process
Don't waste your time on writing the perfect cover letter for the job. We want you to create an impact that matters, and that's not in the cover letter.
- Virtual meet and greet. Meet with Sr Director of AI Leonhard Fricke, the leader of this position.
- Personality-based interview. You will be asked to fill out an online personality assessment using use Hogan prior to the interview. Our Hogan assessment enables us to understand your abilities and how you align with our team culture. Instead of seeking 'appropriate' responses, the priority is to develop a meaningful exchange that illustrates your synergy with the Trackunit team.
- Assignment-specific interview. We want you to get an insight into some of the concrete responsibilities related to the role. You will be given a case to prepare prior to the interview, and at the interview, you will present the case to relevant colleagues from across Trackunit, who you’ll also work closely with in the job.
- If needed, throughout the process we will obtain references from former employers and do background checks for level specific, if you have not provided these yourself.
- Offer presentation and walk-through. We’re lucky to have you!
