Senior Frontend Software Engineer
Trackunit is looking for an engaged Senior Frontend Software Engineer to join our Engineering team.
As a Senior Frontend Software Engineer, you will join our team of 200+ engineers where you'll be working alongside a core group of qualified colleagues to innovate and build robust solutions, and Frontend community where you can share knowledge with other skilled Frontend Software engineers. You will be an integral part in the continuous development of our practical products used by 10,000+ active users every day, and 1,25M+ IoT devices.
At Trackunit, we focus on continuous integration and deployment practices and you will be delving into different projects and always be on the lookout for new innovative ways to approach tasks using the latest tools and great technologies. You will get the chance to work with one of the most advanced and efficient IoT devices on the market through close collaboration with customers and key stakeholders.
With locations in the hearts of Copenhagen, Aarhus, Kolding, and Aalborg, we offer you a flexible setup with the possibility to work from any of our hubs or remotely from anywhere in Denmark.
What’s in it for you?
- You will join our experienced team in IoT devices, automations, and core configurations, where you'll contribute to developing innovative solutions, ensuring a seamless and transparent experience for our customers.
- A place in an agile growth SaaS business with possibilities to grow internally in the company.
- International environment with regular check-ins and social events across teams, departments, and borders.
- We take your personal and professional development goals seriously and we support them through training, coaching and mindfulness as well as with an open feedback culture to enable you to identify your strengths and opportunities. We do this by touching upon your impact on our triple focus: impacting yourself, impacting teams/relations, and impacting the organisation/strategy.
- Flexibility and hybrid working is not just a cliché to us or something we state in a job posting. We do offer you a flexible setup and believe that you best can structure how your routines look like. And once you have chosen how you work best, let us know what you need: We got you covered with the IT equipment you need for your work.
- Turning the Tide. At Trackunit, we are aiming to create and contribute to an inclusive workplace. And this effort starts with our hiring - we do not discriminate on the basis of gender identity, sexual orientation, personal expression, ethnicity, religious belief, or disability status. We only assess candidates on their qualifications and merit. Learn more about TIDE and other DE&I initiatives here.
Oh - and before you read any further, feel free to hear what our great colleague, Michael, has to say about working at Trackunit and in Engineering in general!
Who are you in an ideal scenario?
- You have software development knowledge and understand the different software development lifecycle stages.
- You know your way around the JavaScript language, and you follow technologies and trends for latest updates. You might be familiar with TypeScript, React, NodeJs, Nx, and GraphQL.
- You put an effort into automated tests to ensure we can evolve and adapt our codebase and maintain continuous deployment.
- You have effective communication skills and a passion for mentoring and knowledge sharing.
- You are able to clearly articulate complex problems and solutions.
- You are an advocate for well-written code and you see value in peer code review.
- You attempt to go new ways to solve technical problems and take ownership.
- You have technical understanding of UI and UX.
Don't meet every single requirement? No worries - this is what we're looking for ideally, but if you're super excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align completely with every qualification, we still encourage you to apply.
Every day is different, but you can expect to:
- Develop and continuously improve features to solve real-life customer problems.
- Work with the design team to build and improve the UI and UX of our web applications.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering Team Leads and Engineers who are ready to solve problems together.
- Set your mark on core features and launches.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to enable the team to grow.
- Act as a mentor for frontend developers, guiding them through technical difficulties and best practices.
- Get the opportunity to showcase and get feedback on solutions through demos.
- Share knowledge with and learn from great Frontend Software Engineers thanks to our lively frontend community.
- Stay updated with industry trends and suggest improvements in tools, processes, and technology stack when needed.
Overview of the recruitment process
Don't waste your time on writing a strong cover letter for the job. We want you to create an impact that matters, and that's not in the cover letter.
- Meet and greet - likely on a virtual video call. Here you will meet the hiring manager and other relevant colleagues, and we’re looking forward to it!
- Personality-based interview. You will be asked to fill out an online personality assessment (we use Hogan) prior to the interview. In the interview, you will first of all get feedback, but the aim is just as well to have a dialogue about what you thrive in, what we offer etc.
- Assignment specific interview. Based on the learnings from the process you will be given a case to prepare. You will present the case to the hiring manager and other relevant colleagues.
- Offer presentation and walk through. We're delighted and lucky to have you!
