Senior Quality Engineer
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our IoT devices and systems perform reliably - from our suppliers’ components and manufacturing processes to the final product experience delivered to customers. Operating across Customer & Supplier Quality, you’ll act as the technical voice of quality throughout engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customer operations.
In this role, you will lead investigations, drive corrective and preventive actions, and strengthen both supplier performance and customer trust. With a blend of hands-on technical work, customer-facing responsibility, and close cross-functional collaboration, you will help us build quality into our products from the earliest design decisions through production and across their lifetime in the field.
With locations in Denmark and other countries, we offer you a flexible setup with the possibility to work from home and from the office. We do expect you to come to Aalborg on a regular basis.
What’s in it for you?
- Be part of an ambitious team in a fast-growing SaaS/IoT company connecting construction equipment worldwide, and help shape how quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction are built into our devices from the very beginning.
- International environment with regular check-ins and social events across teams, departments and borders.
- We take your personal and professional development goals seriously and we support them through training, coaching and mindfulness as well as with an open feedback culture to enable you to identify your strengths and opportunities. We do this by touching upon your impact on our triple focus: impacting yourself, impacting teams/relations and impacting the organisation/strategy.
- Flexibility and hybrid working is not just a cliché to us or something we state in a job posting. We do offer you a flexible setup and believe that you best can structure how your routines look like. And once you have chosen how you work best, let us know what you need: we got you covered with the IT equipment you need for your work.
- Turning the Tide. At Trackunit, we aim to create and contribute to an inclusive workplace. And this priority starts with our hiring - we do not discriminate on the basis of gender identity, sexual orientation, personal expression, ethnicity, religious belief, or disability status. We only assess candidates on their qualifications and merit. Learn more about TIDE and other DE&I initiatives here.
Who are you ideally?
You care deeply about building products that won’t fail in the field, and you find energy in diagnosing issues, collaborating across teams, and turning problems into meaningful improvements.
You thrive in an international environment where change is constant and your contributions genuinely matter.
Above all, you bring integrity, ownership, and curiosity to everything you do.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in hardware product quality, supplier/manufacturing quality, or production validation in electronics, IoT, or adjacent industries.
- Strong technical understanding of PCBA, mechanical assembly, test & inspection, and reliability processes.
- Proven experience with methods such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, and root-cause analysis.
- Excellent communicator: able to liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal teams clearly and effectively.
- Outcome-oriented with strong analytical skills and problem-solving mindset — you don’t stop at the symptom, you find and fix the root cause.
- Familiarity with PLM or quality systems (such as Arena), ticketing, data dashboards, and supplier audits is a plus.
Don't meet every single requirement? No worries - this is what we're looking for ideally, but if you are particularly drawn to this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification, we encourage you to apply.
What you'll do
- Act as the technical lead for customer-reported product quality issues and escalations: triage, investigate, communicate, and drive resolution.
- Define and monitor Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) parameters with engineering and production teams, validate test systems, inspections, and release criteria for new product introductions (NPI).
- Lead root-cause analysis (8D, FMEA, Ishikawa) and corrective/preventive actions across internal teams and suppliers.
- Own supplier quality processes in collaboration with manufacturing partners: audits, process validation, PPAP or equivalent, incoming inspection plans.
- Monitor field performance and reliability data (RMAs, defect trends, KPIs) and feed insights into design and process improvements.
- Maintain traceability and documentation in PLM, quality systems, and dashboards (Arena, Jira, Confluence, Power BI).
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Hardware Engineering, Firmware, Supply Chain, Customer Support) to embed quality thinking across the product lifecycle.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to raise our quality maturity, reduce variation, and improve customer experience.
Our hiring process
Don't waste your time on writing the best possible cover letter for the job. We want you to create an impact that matters, and that's not in the cover letter.
- Virtual meet and greet. Meet with Morten Lundgaard, Director of Conformance & Quality, and the hiring manager and leader of the role.
- Personality-based interview. You will be asked to fill out an online personality assessment using use Hogan prior to the interview. Our Hogan assessment enables us to understand your abilities and how you align with our team culture. Instead of seeking 'appropriate' responses, the priority is to develop a meaningful exchange that illustrates your synergy with the Trackunit team.
- Assignment-specific interview. We want you to get an insight into some of the concrete work tasks or projects related to the role. You will be given a case to prepare prior to the interview, and at the interview, you will present the case to relevant colleagues from across Trackunit, who you’ll also work closely with in the job.
- If needed, throughout the process we will obtain references from former employers and do background checks for level specific, if you have not provided these yourself.
- Offer presentation and walk-through. We’re lucky to have you!
