Senior Monetization Operations Manager
Do you want to build the operational backbone behind a new way of monetizing software - where pricing, product usage, data, and billing all need to connect seamlessly?
Trackunit is changing how we charge customers as we move from a traditional SaaS model towards more flexible, usage-based offerings. That means we need to connect a lot of moving parts: what customers use, how that usage is measured, what they have agreed to pay for, and what ultimately appears on their invoice.
As our Senior Monetization Operations Manager, you’ll help us make that entire flow work. You’ll build the processes and checks that help us catch errors early, keep our systems aligned, and give both customers and colleagues confidence that our billing is accurate.
This is a senior individual contributor role with a lot of ownership, but no formal people-management responsibility. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Product, Engineering, Data, Finance, Revenue & Billing and RevOps. Some of the foundations are still being built, so you won’t simply inherit a finished setup. You’ll have an important role in shaping how we work—and we hope that’s the kind of challenge you find energizing.
Trackunit is a fast-growing company and a leading supplier of IoT solutions, operating out of many offices worldwide. We create digital solutions that connect machines, people, and systems in the global construction industry, helping one of the world’s least digitalized industries become more connected, efficient, and productive.
With locations in Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands, we offer a flexible setup giving you the option to work from our hubs or remotely in these countries.
What’s in it for you?
A place in an agile growth SaaS business, with possibilities to grow internally in the company. We are moving quickly, so fasten your seat belt and prepare to adjust. Back in 2020 we were 150 employees at Trackunit and we have just passed 450 employees.
International environment with regular check-ins and social events across teams, departments and borders.
We take your personal and professional development goals seriously and support them through training, coaching and mindfulness, alongside an open feedback culture that helps you identify your strengths and opportunities. We do this by focusing on your impact on yourself, your team, and the organization.
Flexibility and hybrid working is not just a cliché to us. We believe you know how you work best. Once you've decided what works for you, we'll make sure you have the IT equipment and support you need.
Turning the Tide. At Trackunit, we aim to create and contribute to an inclusive workplace. This priority starts with our hiring - we do not discriminate on the basis of gender identity, sexual orientation, personal expression, ethnicity, religious belief, or disability status. We assess candidates solely on their qualifications and merit.
Who are you ideally?
We’re looking for a hands-on monetization operations expert who combines strong systems and data fluency with the ability to create structure across a complex, cross-functional environment.
Ideally, you bring:
Experience running or improving usage-based monetization operations, consumption platforms, metering, rating, or another environment where customer usage needs to be captured and processed accurately.
The ability to follow data through several systems, spot when something doesn’t add up, and work out where the problem started - not just fix the final output.
Experience setting up and testing products, price plans, usage rules, or similar configurations before they are released.
A practical approach to processes and controls. You know how to make an operation reliable without creating unnecessary complexity or slowing everyone down.
The confidence to bring Product, Engineering, Data, Finance, and commercial teams together when an issue crosses several areas - and to keep the work moving until the underlying cause has been resolved.
Comfort working closely with both technical and commercial colleagues. You don’t need to be an engineer, but you should be curious about how data and systems work and willing to get into the details.
The judgment to spot risks, challenge unclear ownership, and set clear standards, even when you don’t formally manage the people involved.
Experience with usage-metering or monetization platforms such as m3ter, Metronome, Amberflo, or similar would be a strong advantage. Familiarity with Salesforce, NetSuite, Databricks, or related systems would also be valuable, but we don’t expect you to know our exact technology stack from day one.
Don't meet every single requirement? No worries - this is what we're looking for ideally, but if you're excited about this opportunity and your experience doesn't perfectly match every qualification, we'd still love to hear from you.
Primary responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Build and improve the way we run monetization operations, including clear processes, responsibilities, checks, and ways to escalate issues.
Make sure new products and pricing plans are set up, tested, approved, and released correctly in m3ter and our connected systems.
Keep track of whether the full flow from customer usage to invoice is working as expected and make risks or gaps visible early.
Put the right checks in place to identify missing, incorrect, or unusual data before it affects customer billing.
Work with Finance and Revenue & Billing to make sure the data and documentation needed for invoicing, reconciliation, and audits are ready and reliable.
Help turn agreed business and pricing rules into system configurations and practical ways of working.
Lead investigations when usage, system configuration, or billing numbers don’t look right, bringing the relevant teams together to find and fix the underlying cause.
Work with Product, Engineering, and Data to improve how usage is captured, moved between systems, and monitored.
Create and maintain useful dashboards, instructions, control records, and documentation so people know what is happening and what to do when something goes wrong.
Look for recurring problems and manual work that can be simplified or automated as the business grows.
Help the Monetization Operations Specialist prioritize the right work and provide guidance on more complex issues, while working together as peers in the Monetization team.
