Data Engineer
We’re looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our Device Health team at Trackunit. In this role, you’ll work closely with your team and other teams to make sure that our customers knows the exact health of their devices, helping them stay connected at all time.
From organizing data to finding new ways of detecting device health issues to collaborating across teams in engineering, product and sales, you will be in the front seat of one of the most important and high impact areas when it comes to helping our customers and their fleets staying connected.

Who are you ideally?
You bring a strong background in data engineering, data warehousing, or data science/AI/ML.
You have hands-on experience with the Databricks platform and are familiar with its key features and ecosystem.
You are proficient in Python, SQL and Spark, and can apply them effectively in real-world data scenarios.
You excel at organizing data for increasing quality, structure and business readiness.
Experience or understanding of the construction and off-highway vehicle industry is a strong plus.

Primary responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models that power device health insights across the Trackunit platform.
Take ownership of structuring, cleaning, and organizing complex IoT and telematics data to ensure high data quality, reliability, and business readiness.
Collaborate closely with the team’s Data Scientist to operationalize analytics models, experiments, and algorithms into robust, production-grade data solutions.
Explore large-scale device datasets to uncover patterns, anomalies, and new opportunities for detecting and preventing device health issues-
Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data architecture, tooling, and best practices.
Support the development of new device health use cases that increase uptime, reliability, and value for our customers’ fleets.

Assignment-specific interview. We want you to get an insight into some of the concrete work tasks or projects related to the role. You will be given a case to prepare prior to the interview, and at the interview, you will present the case to relevant colleagues from across Trackunit, who you’ll also work closely with in the job.
