Product Insights Manager
Turn product data into product direction
We’re looking for someone who can uncover the stories hidden in our product usage, translate complexity into clarity, and guide product teams toward smarter, evidence-backed decisions. If you love connecting dots others haven’t even noticed yet, you’ll feel at home in this role.
You’ll sit at the intersection of Product, Engineering, and Data - bringing insights directly into discovery conversations, shaping opportunities with PMs, and grounding decisions in real user behavior rather than intuition.
This role will influence everything from problem framing to roadmap priorities. You won’t just build dashboards; you’ll build understanding, confidence, and a stronger, insight-led product culture across the organization.
With locations in in both Aalborg, Aarhus, Kolding and Copenhagen (DK), we offer you a flexible setup with the possibility to work from home and from the office. No relocation assistance is offered for this position.
What’s in it for you?
A place in an agile growth SaaS business, with possibilities to grow internally in the company. We are moving quickly, so fasten your seat belt and prepare to adjust. Back in 2020 we were 150 employees at Trackunit and we have just passed 450 employees.
International environment with regular check-ins and social events across teams, departments and borders.
We take your personal and professional development goals seriously and we support them through training, coaching and mindfulness as well as with an open feedback culture to enable you to identify your strengths and opportunities. We do this by touching upon your impact on our triple focus: impacting yourself, impacting teams/relations and impacting the organisation/strategy.
Flexibility and hybrid working is not just a cliché to us or something we state in a job posting. We do offer you a flexible setup and believe that you best can structure how your routines look like. And once you have chosen how you work best, let us know what you need: we got you covered with the IT equipment you need for your work.
Turning the Tide. At Trackunit, we aim to create and contribute to an inclusive workplace. And this priority starts with our hiring - we do not discriminate on the basis of gender identity, sexual orientation, personal expression, ethnicity, religious belief, or disability status. We only assess candidates on their qualifications and merit. Learn more about TIDE and other DE&I initiatives here.
Who are you ideally?
You have hands-on experience working with product analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel) and can independently extract, model, and interpret product usage data.
You bring a solid understanding of SaaS product behavior - activation, adoption, engagement, retention - and know how to translate these into insights that shape decisions.
You’re skilled at turning data into clear narratives and opportunities, making complexity simple and driving evidence-based conversations across teams.
You’ve worked closely with Product Managers and Engineering before, and you feel confident challenging assumptions when the evidence points elsewhere.
You communicate with clarity, empathy, and confidence - whether facilitating a room of PMs or coaching someone one-on-one.
You’re proactive, curious, and collaborative - the kind of person who naturally inserts themselves into discovery discussions, planning conversations, and product reviews.
You care deeply about impact: for you, data is only valuable when it influences what a team chooses to build next.
Don't meet every single requirement? No worries - this is what we're looking for ideally, but if you're particularly drawn to this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification, we encourage you to apply.
Primary responsibilities:
1. Drive Evidence-Based Product Decision Making
Uncover actionable insights from product usage, behavioral trends, customer segments, and feature adoption patterns.
Embed data directly into discovery, validation work, and shaping opportunities.
Partner with PMs on hypothesis building, segmentation, and experiment design.
Enable teams to confidently answer: What should we solve next — and why?
2. Influence and Enable Product Teams
Collaborate closely with PMs to turn data into compelling stories, not just charts.
Lead recurring Product Health and Insight Review sessions that guide decision-making.
Coach teams on using Amplitude and BI tools effectively in their daily work.
Build lightweight enablement materials and self-serve insight templates that scale.
3. Build Actionable Insight Products
Design insight products and dashboards that support decisions - not just visibility.
Create and maintain behavioral cohorts, funnels, and retention analyses.
Surface adoption barriers and uncover key “moments of truth” in the product journey.
Spot emerging patterns early and highlight opportunities before they’re obvious.
4. Partner Across Product, Engineering, and Data
Work with Data Engineering to ensure instrumentation is accurate and effective.
Validate tracking requirements with PMs to ensure metrics truly reflect user behavior.
Collaborate with Product Ops to refine analytics processes and strengthen data quality.
5. Elevate Product Culture
Advocate for continuous learning and curiosity through data.
Encourage teams to validate assumptions before committing to solutions.
Promote a culture where insight - not opinion - drives product decisions.
Our hiring process
Disclaimer! As we move into the holiday season, we'll be enjoying some well-deserved downtime over Christmas. 🎄 this means we won't review applications until the beginning of January. So please don't worry if you don't hear from us right away. We'll be back to you as soon as we're back.
Don't waste your time on writing the best possible cover letter for the job. We want you to create an impact that matters, and that's not in the cover letter.
Virtual meet and greet. Meet with Henrik Leerberg, the hiring manager for this role, and potentially also other relevant colleagues from the team.
Personality-based interview. You will be asked to fill out an online personality assessment using use Hogan prior to the interview. Our Hogan assessment enables us to understand your abilities and how you align with our team culture. Instead of seeking 'appropriate' responses, the priority is to develop a meaningful exchange that illustrates your synergy with the Trackunit team.
Assignment-specific interview. We want you to get an insight into some of the concrete work tasks or projects related to the role. You will be given a case to prepare prior to the interview, and at the interview, you will present the case to relevant colleagues from across Trackunit, who you’ll also work closely with in the job.
If needed, throughout the process we will obtain references from former employers and do background checks for level specific, if you have not provided these yourself.
Offer presentation and walk-through. We’re lucky to have you!
