Android Mobile Engineer
Due to continuous growth, we are looking for an Android Mobile Engineer with experience in native Android development. You will play a key role in the growth of our mobile products, used by more than 10,000 active users every day, and become part of our team of 160+ engineers. Here, you’ll collaborate with a group of skilled colleagues who explore new approaches to find the best solutions.
At Trackunit, we believe that flexibility and empowerment drive innovative value creation. We continuously explore new ways of working with the latest tools and technologies. We value colleagues who can prioritize, multitask, and deliver — because it makes achieving great results more rewarding.
With offices in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Kolding, and Aalborg, we offer a flexible setup where you can work from one of our hubs or remotely from anywhere in Denmark.
What’s in it for you?
- Be part of a distributed development team with a down-to-earth culture and a practical, pragmatic way of working.
- Work in an international environment with regular check-ins and social events across teams, departments, and locations.
- Continuous learning opportunities, with focus on both emerging technologies and your personal and professional growth.
- Access to development opportunities through training, coaching, and mindfulness. Growth is supported through our Impact Conversations, where we co-create a learning path each quarter and reflect on your impact on yourself, your relationships, and the organization.
- Genuine flexibility and hybrid working. You structure your routines to balance work and life in the way that suits you best.
Who are you ideally?
- You are an active contributor within a mobile development team.
- You have experience developing native Android apps using Kotlin and are confident with the supporting tools and technologies.
- You take a structured approach to development, automated testing, and code design.
- You may hold an engineering degree or similar technical background, but self-taught developers with relevant experience are equally welcome.
- Experience with or interest in mobile architecture is a plus.
Don’t meet every single requirement? We know that talent and motivation can’t always be captured in a checklist. If you’re excited about this role but don’t match every qualification, we still encourage you to apply.
Every day is different, but you can expect to:
- Write and maintain high-quality code — you write it, you own it.
- Maintain legacy apps and migrate them to newer technologies.
- Build new apps using the latest frameworks and tools.
- Contribute to design sessions and bring creative ideas to meet customer needs.
- Collaborate closely with other engineers and share perspectives.
- Explore new approaches to solve technical challenges and take ownership of your solutions.
- Provide customer value by following best practices.
- Take responsibility for your projects and make a visible impact.
- Based on your interests, you may also work with:
- Setting up and maintaining a physical test environment.
- Testing frameworks for mobile apps.
- Mobile app security.
- Kotlin Multiplatform.
- Tracking and applying new technologies and trends.
Overview of the recruitment process
Don't waste your time on writing the perfect cover letter for the job. We want you to create an impact that matters, and that's not in the cover letter.
- Meet and greet - likely on a virtual videocall. Here you will meet the hiring manager and other relevant colleagues, so we can get to know each other better.
- Personality-based interview. You will be asked to fill out an online personality assessment (we use Hogan) prior to the interview. In the interview, you will first of all get feedback on your results, but the aim is just as well to have a dialogue about what you thrive in, what we offer etc.
- Assignment specific interview. Based on the learnings from the process you will be given a case to prepare. You will present the case to the hiring manager and other relevant new colleagues.
- Offer presentation and walk through. We're excited and lucky to have you!
