Director of Product Management (w/m/d)
At Trackunit, we believe great product leadership stands on two legs: a deep understanding of product and business context, and the ability to grow and empower the people who bring it to life. As our new Director of Product Management, you’ll lead across all three dimensions that matter: people, business, and customers.
You’ll be joining a distributed, high-impact team and will play a critical role in shaping how we build and scale our product organization — with a strong focus on people leadership, customer value creation, cross-regional collaboration, and technical credibility.
With hubs located in several vibrant cities across Europe, we offer a flexible setup that allows you to work from one of our local hubs or remotely from anywhere within the EMEA region. You can find the full overview at the bottom of this job ad or by visiting this link. Please note that we do not offer relocation assistance for this position.
What’s in it for you?
- A place in an agile growth SaaS business, with possibilities to grow internally in the company. We are moving quickly, so fasten your seat belt and prepare to adjust. Back in 2020 we were 150 employees at Trackunit and we have just passed 450 employees.
- International environment with regular check-ins and social events across teams, departments and borders.
- We take your personal and professional development goals seriously and we support them through training, coaching and mindfulness as well as with an open feedback culture to enable you to identify your strengths and opportunities. We do this by touching upon your impact on our triple focus: impacting yourself, impacting teams/relations and impacting the organisation/strategy.
- Flexibility and hybrid working is not just a cliché to us or something we state in a job posting. We do offer you a flexible setup and believe that you best can structure how your routines look like. And once you have chosen how you work best, let us know what you need: we got you covered with the IT equipment you need for your work.
- Turning the Tide. At Trackunit, we aim to create and contribute to an inclusive workplace. And this priority starts with our hiring - we do not discriminate on the basis of gender identity, sexual orientation, personal expression, ethnicity, religious belief, or disability status. We only assess candidates on their qualifications and merit. Learn more about TIDE and other DE&I initiatives here.
Who are you ideally?
We’re looking for someone who brings a strong combination of product and people leadership — someone who thrives in complexity, builds bridges across regions, and empowers product teams to deliver commercial outcomes. You ideally:
- Have cross-regional experience leading distributed product teams in a B2B SaaS context.
- Think in systems and can define and evolve product operating models — not just product roadmaps.
- Bring executive-level communication skills: You’re able to influence senior stakeholders and align across teams on complex trade-offs and priorities.
- Possess strong product and commercial acumen: You understand how product decisions drive business results — and vice versa.
- Have high credibility with technical teams and can facilitate sound trade-offs without undermining delivery.
- Have led through ambiguity and brought clarity to messy, fast-moving environments.
- Build high-performing teams by mentoring, shaping career paths, and driving a strong culture of feedback, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Operate beyond product — partnering with peers across Engineering, GTM, and executive leadership to drive execution at scale.
Don't meet every single requirement? No worries — this is what we’re looking for ideally. If you're drawn to this role but your experience doesn’t align perfectly, we encourage you to apply.
Primary responsibilities:
Product & Business Leadership
- Own and evolve how we build and launch products, bringing structure and momentum to a growing product area.
- Translate business strategy into actionable product direction, driving measurable outcomes tied to commercial success.
- Shape the product operating model and ensure cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Design, and GTM.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across regions and act as a key connector, especially between NA and EMEA.
- Partner with sales, marketing, and customer-facing teams to ensure internal readiness and clear external positioning.
People & Organizational Leadership
- Lead and grow a team of product managers and senior ICs with clarity, support, and high standards.
- Mentor the team through ambiguity, helping raise the bar on execution, ownership, and strategic thinking.
- Foster a culture of empowerment and accountability, ensuring team voices are heard and acted on.
- Partner with leadership peers across functions to drive collaboration and shared ownership of outcomes.
- Identify and resolve organizational gaps, unlocking performance, motivation, and clarity.
Our hiring process
🌴 We’ll be taking some well-deserved downtime from late July to early August. So if you’re waiting to hear from us during that time, no need to worry—we’ll keep you updated on progress and pauses throughout the process 🌴
Also, don't waste your time on writing the best possible cover letter for the job. We want you to create an impact that matters, and that's not in the cover letter.
- Virtual meet and greet. Meet Henrik Leerberg, SVP of Product Management and the hiring manager for this role.
- Personality-based interview. You will be asked to fill out an online personality assessment using use Hogan prior to the interview. Our Hogan assessment enables us to understand your abilities and how you align with our team culture. Instead of seeking 'appropriate' responses, the priority is to develop a meaningful exchange that illustrates your synergy with the Trackunit team.
- Assignment-specific interview. We want you to get an insight into some of the concrete work tasks or projects related to the role. You will be given a case to prepare prior to the interview, and at the interview, you will present the case to relevant colleagues from across Trackunit, who you’ll also work closely with in the job.
- If needed, throughout the process we will obtain references from former employers and do background checks for level specific, if you have not provided these yourself.
- Offer presentation and walk-through. We’re lucky to have you!
